Launched in 1989 and based on the MK2 Golf platform to Homologate the Rallye for VW's Group A rally campaign. With its Box arch design to accommodate a wider track front and rear due to the Rallye's Synchro four wheel drive system mated to a supercharged version of the 8valve GTI engine. Only 5,000 G60 Rallye models were built, all left hand drive and only available in mainland Europe at a list price of double that of the standard Golf GTI.
This example was supplied new in Germany in 1990 before being imported to the UK in June 1998, registered to the import company originally then bought and registered to the current keeper in October of the same year. Showing only 1 previous UK keeper. Dry stored for the past 4 years due to the vendors work commitments. Sold with an extensive history file from its original import documents through to large collection of invoices for servicing and maintenance during the current keepers ownership.
