Registration: PGR700N
VIN: GD2D1229G
Mileage Showing: 57,000
Transmission: Manual
MOT: Exempt
Number of Keys: 2
V5 on Site: Yes
Launched in 1973 this BGT V8 featured Rover's 3.5 litre V8 engine and due to the engine's aluminium block and heads weight was reduced by 20KG compared to the 4 cylinder BGT. Originally available as a chrome bumper model before switching along with the standard car to rubber bumpers at the end of 1974. Only 2,500 factory V8 cars were produced, a tiny number compared to the over 500,000 BGT cars made.
This chrome bumper example was first registered in September 1974 although the included Heritage certicate shows a build date of May 1973 making this a correct factory chrome bumper car (unlike many converted rubber cars) Finished in its original colour of Damask red with manual gearbox with overdrive.
Owned by the current keeper for 5 years and showing 57,000 miles. Sold with album detailing an extensive restoration carried out in 2019 as well as record of previous ownership history going back to when the car was new and a folder of invoices dating back to the 1990s and more recent invoices including a large invoice for over £2,500 in 2022 for engine seals replaced, brake work and suspension work.
