Designed by Saab's special vehicle operations (SVO) and Race car tuners Tom Walkenshaw Racing (TWR) the Viggen took Saab's new, lightweight B235R 2.3 litre turbo charged engine with its already upgraded internals for higher power output, fitted it with a larger turbo, larger intercooler, uprated exhaust valves and strengthened connecting rods and gudgeon pins to ensure the engines reliabilty. This was all controlled by Saab's new Tronic-7 management system taken from the new Saab 95.
This engine work increased power to 230BHP and 260 lb/ft of torque. Extra power required chassis work including stiffer springs and retuned dampers along with upgraded brakes, stiffer anti roll bars and 215/45 tyres on the Viggen exclusive 5 spoke alloy wheels.
Other upgrades exclusive to the Viggen include unique two-tone leather seats, upgraded steering wheel and a custom dashboard fascia.
This example is also fitted with Abbott Saab's "Viggen Rescue Kit" which includes tuning to the chassis set up to eliminate torque steering improve the car's handling.
This lightning blue convertible model was first registered and supplied new in June 2000 by Robert Bowett Saab of Leeds at a cost of £25,500. it shows just 58,000 miles and MOT till July.
Sold with 2 sets of keys and fobs, original sales invoice and larger collection of invoices and receipts for servicing and maintenance. The vendor advises of recent work including refurbished wheels, new DIC and spark plugs, new air con compressor and that the roof has recently been treated with Fabsil for protection.
