First registered February 1980 and originally with the standard MG 1.8 litre engine this Pageant blue example has been extensively upgraded by the current owners (life long MG club members and owners) over a 3 years period, completed in 2022. Upgrades include a 3.5 litre Rover V8 engine with manual gearbox, a stripped and blasted bodyshell converted to chrome bumpers, rebuilt with all new metal work, new brake and fuel lines, new cooling system etc.
The engine itself has been rebuilt with rebored cylinders, vitesse pistons, reground crank shaft, new bearings, Oselli stage 1 ported cylinder heads, Land Rover 3.9 cam shafts, twin 1.75" SU carburettors, tubular manifolds and large bore exhaust. The brakes are upgraded with Austin 4 piston calipers and vented disks.
The vendor advises of a spend of over £25,000. Sold with a good sized history file including vendors list of work carried out, invoices and copy of heritage certificate.
