Designed to compete with the Volkswagen Transporter of the time and sharing many key attributes including a rear mounted, air cooled engine as well as a "cab over" design which sat the driver over the front wheels.

Using the Corvair name to match the other Chevrolet models using the same 2.4 litre air cooled, 6 cylinder engine the Greenbrier was launched in 1961 and was considered the more refined and usable choice over the VW.

This 1961 example was supplied new in Canada where it was purchased from a farm in Ontario in 2021 before being imported to the UK. Now fully UK registered with V5 and the registration 633XVT.
