"Easily one of the best cars we have had the pleasure of offering for sale! "
Launched in 1959 the Mini was originally available from both Austin and Morris, badged either the Morris Mini-Minor or as in this case an Austin Seven Mini before being renamed the Austin Mini in 1962 after just 3 years of production.
This stunning restored example was originally supplied new in London and first registered October 1960 although believed to have spent most of its life with the original owner in Perth, Scotland before selling to the second owner in 2004 after 43 years of ownership. Now showing 4 previous owners.
Purchased by the current keeper a Mini fanatic in 2021 where an extensive restoration was carried out with a wonderful eye for detail. Work included a full bare metal respray in its original Speedwell blue, original 850cc engine and manual gearbox rebuilt, newly trimmed interior finished by Newton commercials, a special order to match the correct original colours the car left the factory with (a combination believed to have only been available for 1 year of production)
Finished to a mostly standard specification with the exception of electronic ignition, twin leading drum front brakes, fuel pump moved from under the car to the boot to keep it dry. Having covered 4,000 miles since completion and now showing 18,000 miles.
Sold with a large history file of invoices for work carried out including records of heritage panels being used, Upol cavity wax coating in the box sections as well as many receipts from the restoration and a photo album taken during the work.
A truly stunning example of the iconic MK1 mini.
