A unique example of Ford's iconic Escort poster car!

Built in the year 2000 using a new Ford 909 Motorsport shell. An Escort RS Cosworth shell sold to the public by Ford with Vin numbers etc with the intention of being used in motorsport. Mostly identical to the standard roadcars with the main difference being lack of sunroof.

Built using all new parts four years after the Escort Cosworth was taken off sale using all new Ford parts costing a total of £54,000! Originally finished in Diamond white (all motorsport shells were supplied in white)

An engine was sourced from Legendary Ford engine builder Harvey Gibbs, engine spec includes low compression pocketed pistons, ported and polished cylinder head, Hybrid t4 turbo with 360 degree thrust bearing, WRC head gasket and head bolts to produce 444BHP although room to increase power to 650bhp with larger injectors etc. Currently running a lower boost map producing 400BHP.

Other upgrades include Rondell Alloy wheels, 335mm AP racing front brake discs and calipers, Standard MT75 gearbox with Quaife internals and AP racing clutch, Bilstein coilovers.

The interior was a brand new Raven black cosworth interior left totally standard with the exception of the Collins performance monitor installed above the radio.

Before being road registered the car was submitted as a new car for an SVA test where it passed and was assigned the year 2000 plate X957JCS. Currently on a private plate included in the sale.

Purchased in 2011 by a new owner who comissioned a fantastic quality full respray in the Escort Cosworth colour of Auralis Blue at the same time replacing any parts not up to his exacting standards with the help of Fast Ford Specialist Paul Linfoot as well as taking the engine back to Harvey Gibbs (the original engine builder) for a full health check.

A stunning example that has been meticulously maintained. Showing 4 previous keepers and 19,000 miles. Sold with copies of magazines where the car has had multiple features in its original and restored states, 2 keys and fobs and huge history file including original delivery sticker and invoice for body shell, previous MOT certifcates to verify the mileage and large collection of receipts and invoices as well as rolling road printouts.
