Launched in 1979, 5 years into the Chevette production run the Sun Hatch special edition was available in either light blue metallic or silver beige metallic with matching blue or beige plaid cloth interior. Fitted with extras over the standard model including a lift and removable britax sunroof, tinted glass all round, push button radio with retractable aerial, sports wheels, body side mouldings, twin rear fog lamps, opening rear windows, clock, cigar lighter, front head restraingts and a parcel shelf.
This example was supplied new and first registered August 1980 by Skipper of Gloucester, kept by the first owner for 5 years before being sold to its second owner who kept the car for 34 years. Used sparingly up until 1993 where having covered 36,000 miles the car was stored away in the garage before being bought by the car's 3rd owner in December 2019, recommissioned and presented for an MOT test in January 2020 showing 37,090 miles.
Now showing 5 previous keepers, used sparingly and currently showing 37,000 miles and MOT till October next year. Sold with a good sized history file including original sales brochure stamped by the supplying dealer, original service book with stamps up to 31,000 miles.
