Between 1948 and 1952 the German authorities comissioned Karosserie "herbüller" to build a 4 door cabriolet version of the VW beetle. Names the Type 18-A and used by the German police as border patrol vehicles using 4 doors to allow additional personell in and out of the vehicle quick, fitted with canvas doors and hood but without windows. Custom wooden flooring alllowed water and mud to drop out.

This car was built as a project by a German university's vehicle design department as a recplica of the Type 18a incuding replicating the same strengthening sections used underneath, to the pillars and under the bonnet to allow the previously 2 door convertible to become a 4 door without loosing structural integrity.

Painted in satin Ox blood red with contrasting black and red interior. Finished to a fantastic standard and improved by its current Beetle fanatic owner. Fitted with a 1,200cc engine, fully UK registered with V5.

Now tax and MOT exempt.
