2000 Ford Racing Puma

Unveiled at the 1999 Geneva motor shop as the Puma ST160 concept, designed and built by Ford's rally specialist division in Boreham before the release of the production car, known as the Racing Puma in 2000. Limited to just 500 cars all built by Tickford (responsible for the Capri Turbo and other specialist Ford projects) Only available in Ford Racing Blue a colour only used on the Escort Cosworth and Focus RS previously.

Widened by 90mm from the standard Puma with aluminium front wings and widened steel bodywork to the rear as well as unique front bumper with carbon fibre splitter as well as wider rear bumper including cutouts to fit the wider track around the rear lights.

The 1.7 litre engine was upgraded from the standard Puma with more aggressive camshaft, new air intake, exhaust by Janspeed and revised engine management system teamed with strengthened manual gearbox, suspension tuned and set up by stig blomqvist of WRC fame and 4 piston brakes by Alcon.

This example is number 357 of 500 was first registered October 2000. Having been taken off the road in 2014 the car was purchased by the current keeper in 2023 where he began a full recommissioning including new engine belts, spark plugs, filters, all fluids, water pump, brake overhaul, paint refresh, new old stock wheels and centre caps with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres all round and steering wheel re-trim.

Showing 81,000 miles and MOT till June next year. Sold with invoices for work from previous owners as well as records of work carried out by the current owner.

A beautifully presented example of a modern classic Fast Ford.
