First registered September 1989 this 1.9 litre GTi has been upgraded in recent years for use on Tarmac hil climbs and track days. Owned by a family of seasoned racers the car's specifications include a Quaife close ration gearbox with limited slip differential, bucket seats with Sabelt harnesses, roll cage, bilstein suspension and twin weber 45 carburettors. Also fitted with 4.9 differential, paddle clutch GTI 6 steering rack.
The vendor advises the engine was recently rebuilt and refitted with new water hoses, oil breather kit and stainless steel group N exhaust system including maniffold. Other recent work included new wheel bearings, rear brake drumps, shoes and cylinders, new starter motor and the addition of front mounted spot lights.
Sold with 2 keys as well as MOT till May.
