Originally supplied new in July 1987 to a Mr N on the Channel island of Alderney with the registration AY2025. Mr N owned the car for the next 17 years. Mr N sold his house on Alderney in 2004 to a Mr P who along with the house also purchased the Golf along with a table & chairs and some other house contents. The mileage is documented at 4,000 at this point. Both owners record keeping the car garaged and cherished.
Mr P then moved back to the UK mainland taking the car with him. The car was registered with the mainland number D102BSA on its arrival in 2013. Owned by Mr P until March 2014 where due to lack of garage space he was forced to sell the car to its 2nd UK (3rd overall) and current owner. The mileage at this time was recorded at 6,937.
The current owner of 11 years, a fanatical owner who has spent time writing to each owner and garages in Alderney that looked after the car in order to compile an extensive history file which includes copies of these letters (including stamped envelopes etc) his diary of ownership of the car, fuel receipts, a large folder of receipts for work and maintenance carried out during his ownership and a service book with 13 stamps including records retro added by the current owner after contacting garages on Alderney for records of servicing. The most recent service at 11,466 miles last year. Also sold with previous UK and channel island tax discs as well as previous and current MOT certificates.
Recently on display in a local VW dealership as well as winning shows in the current keepers ownership. Beautifully presented in incredibly original condition and showing 12,000 miles and carrying a current MOT till June next year.
